Gti6 Oil Dipstick

Just finishing my GTI6 conversion and noticed that the dipstick has two grooves at the top.

Are these for "O" ring seals? I know the 8v ones should be sealed to stop air leaks, are 6 ones the same.

yes, there should be 2 on there, does it keep popping out an inch or so? that's what mine does with one missing

 

the RS engine isn't as sensitive to crankcase air leaks as it runs a MAP sensor and has a valve in the breather system.

 

the seals aren't listed separately, but they're not expensive as a whole;

Thought there should be. Not noticed anything yet as its not been out.

Taking it for a spin later today for the first time. RAC card at the ready.

I'll have a look round at work for a couple of O rings before I spend £6.
