Which Box?

Recommended Posts

My sister's fiancée needs a replacement box for his 03 206 SW 1.4 (8v TU), having killed the original and now killed a reconditioned unit 3 months past a 12month warranty. I'm told that generally these boxes are made of cheese, but are there any in particular that are less prone to failure on certain models that would make a suitable replacement to go with this engine?

its an MA :P all UK spec 206's use MA boxes apart from the EW10 and DW engines, the only one I know that doesn't is an Iranian spec car :)

BE4R Picasso box fits a TU. Look for some of Sandy's posts.

ok thanks. By fit, how easily do they fit? Is it literally just plug in where the old one was? Gear linkages, mounts & driveshafts all fit happy days? or would I be covering much less known ground?

BE4R is also fitted to some of the Partners and Berlingos with TU engines.

At least our Partner Combi -03 has a BE4R fitted to the TU4JP engine.

Mounts won't be a problem, but shafts and linkages won't be plug and play.
