Tick Over Problem From Cold

Hi, I bought a 1.6 205 GTI a few months back and its got a few probs which im struggling to fix.

When starting the car from cold you have to keep your foot on the gas for around 3 mins or it just stalls straight away, after 3 mins on the gas it seems a little lumpy on idle but from what i gather this is pretty normal....is it the cold start device that could be faulty?

Its a pain and im getting sick of it now and i asked at a couple garages and they didnt seem to know much about it.

 

Also it kangaroos quite violently when in 1st and 2nd gears with the revs below 1700...especially when going round corners and in traffic so the only way to go round corners without this happening is with the clutch pedal down and this is also pissing me off now so i thought id ask the experts....hence this post. Could this be the throttle body that needs cleaning along with all the breather pipes?

 

Any help with these isues would be greatly appreciated as i love the car to bits but im thinking about getting rid of it due to these issues spoiling the whole driving experience.
