Low Fuel Hesitaion.....

I've noticed since i've had the car (a standard 1.9 8v) that it is hesitant when the fuel falls below the half way mark, and even more when it gets very low...... could this be a sign that the fuel pump is on the way out? ie. without the gravity pressure of a full tank its not pumping as well? Or could this all be in my head? The car definitely seems more eager with a tank full to the brim......

I had a similar problem where it would die briefly then come back to life.

Turns out pump was shot...
