Hi all,

The seasons about to start for me and i finally have the car road worthy so can now get these carbs set up well.

Here's an idea of how they currently running:

1) Engine doesnt wanna know below 3500k revs (the start of power band of my rally Catcam)

2) Does seem very rich as pops and farts on over run

3) THIS IS THE MOST INTRIGING.......I run Piper Socks all the time, but if i take these off (as ive heard they are limiting my airflow) as soon as the engine hits say 4k rpm and up it doesnt wanna know and will splutter and not give full power!?!?

I cant remember what jet settings im running at the moment but it was recommended on here to me, ill have a look and post back asap!!

My main issue is that the car seems too rich on the lower rev range and yet maybe too Lean on higher rev range?!?

Anyone got any ideas?

Sorry best add its a 1.9 8v with rally catcam, std head with 3 angle valve seats and a 60thou skim, H&H Dizzy

Many Thanx

I would say get it set up properly on a rolling road, the jet sizes might be way out and you really need a lamda probe to get it right. Have you tried your cam and ignition timing? Try swinging the dizzy to see if that settles the idle a bit. Tried setting up my nova rally car with 40's and lumpy cam without a rolling road and that took weeks to get it near right but still not great so for me the only real solution is to take it to a reputable tuner for a full set up.

There isn't really an alternative to getting it properly set up.

Definately agree, just chasing your own tail without it.
