Whats The Difrence? 405 D6a Engine?

just bought a 205 1.6 gti but its got a d6a engine code, thats the 405 one right?

 

whats the diffrence between that and a 205 1.9 engine?

it has no spacer but apart from that i dont know.

 

ive tryed to search but its only 3 letters so cant help much

405 1.9 8v engine. IIRC it's the same lump as the 8v BX GTi

this is the bx spec if it helps

Probabably about the same as the 1.9GTi - They never made 130bhp in reality anyway.

I'm pretty certain someone commented some time ago that it had quite a different character to the 205 engine, behaving more like the 1.9 Mi until it ran out of puff around 6k.

if its a 405 sri 1.9 8v id use it,i had one in a 205 not long agi and it drove a lot better than the original lump.use the loom for smoother running and better torque.

i could not say for sure if it has the full 405 sri loom or not. its running a pug performance ecu. well chipped by pp im guessing, but been years since i drove a 8v 205 to compare it with,
