The washer motor/pump is on the side of the washer bottle on the passenger front wing. Common fault, usually just bad connections on the wiring connector.

Do the wipers themselves move when you pull back on the stalk? If not, it could be the stalk at fault, which is also common (if less so)

Also check the earth next to the headlight - this normally corrodes enough to stop the motor from working. You can check the motor by running it direct from the battery with a couple of bits of wire, quite easy as they're right next to each other.

It's inside the engine bay at the front on the edge of the headlamp panel, between the headlight and the rediator. They (there is one on the other side of the radiator too) are normally covered by a plastic cover to try and stop them corroding.

If you need a hand let me know as i'm not far up the road and pass through Dursley roughly once a week.

looked under the plastic covering, i found 6 wires, 1 of which seems to be connecting to nothing as it just loops, all of which were in pretty poor condition, my next step is to cut them all back and get some new spades on there, am i in the right place?

Yes that sounds right. Don't bother putting new spade connectors on the end though, instead put ring terminals on and then unbolt the little casing they plug into and just earth the ring connectors straight onto the back of the headlamp panel in place of the spade connector box (the bit that had a plastic cover on it).

hmm im stuck on this now, i replaced all the spades with rings (thanks goliath) bolted it on, i even sanded the metal down so it got a good connection, and now when i pull the stalk, nothing happens. but if i take the wires off, the wipers move, just no spray.

You need to use a toothed washer on the ring connectors ideally. That is unlikely to stop them working immediately though, but it will in a few months time when they start to corrode.

Do you have a multimeter?

For the non-electrically minded stumbling across this thread.... what's a toothed washer and why would it be used??

I replaced both the earthing blocks earlier in the year with the original bolt through new ring terminals. Solved the immeditae problems I had, should I be expecting problems sometime soon??

It's a washer with teeth on it. It's not specifically an electrical item; it's just a washer with sharp bits on so it bites into what it's sat in between.

They are often called star washers, used for stopping nuts coming undone, but the "star" can be on the inside or outside of the washer.
