New Coil- Part Number?

Recommended Posts

bucky

Ok so Im going to try a new coil to see if that solves my cutting out problem. Is there a list of part numbers for different makes or can anyone confirm the one below from ebay is ok

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-C15-C15-Peug...A1%7C240%3A1318

Im sure it is something overheating thats causing my problems. It cut out again today while sitting at traffic lights so I opened the bonnet and let it sit for a few mins to cool and it started again fine.

Replaced ignition amp with new one although its Lucas one and used the paste and it doesnt feel hot when the engine cuts out so hopefully that is ruled out

Oh by the way I have been searching through loads of stuff first before I post but cant find the answers I need. You're going to get sick of me soon!

Trust me on this: take your old/current coil down to your local, friendly autofactors, and I'm almost positive they'll find an equivalent for you on their shelves.

It may be a Vauxhall one, but they're only about £15 and that's job done.

There's two types. The one you've linked to is the earlier style mounted to the side of the engine bay. The later cars have a square coil mounted on the inlet manifold. Do a search and you'll find pictures on here.

Try GSF or ECP as they list several types.
