Mapping And Set Up At Aldon Automotive

Recommended Posts

edbar

Just aquired an alpha ignition set up and Aldons are the nearest dealer with rolling road facilities and software for alpha. Has anyone used them? And were they happy with the results? Or does anyone have recommendations for other tuners with the software to map it, not just in west mids. Any help appreciated.

Edd.

Used them for years with my old A-series kit cars, but that was a while ago admittedly. Very knowledgeable, did a great job every time, and no bulls*it. Can't speak for them of recent times or with Alpha setup but if they're anything like 10 years ago, they're excellent.

I brought an ignition kit from them for my old A-series (distributor and coil) and they mapped the advance curve pretty well as far as I can tell - got good RR results anyway (not at their RR tho).

Also sent the distributor for a 'remap' when I made some engine changes and the service was top notch.

As above tho - no experience of the alpha set-up sorry.

Thanks for input everybody, miles the alpha will suit me as aldons is local and i only need 3d ignition so anything more would be a waste. When i go 16v i will probably use dta and throttle bodies so it wont matter.

there's a place down in Cradley Heath who's name escapes me but they're very well regarded so I'm told.

here it is

Hi-Tech Motorsport

33 Station Road

Cradley Heath

West Midlands

B64 6NN

Tel 01384 561777

i did a search for a website ages ago but didn't have one at the time. One of those places that doesn't need to as they always busy from what i was told (by a customer not the place themselves!)

ps they have now http://www.hitechmotorsport.co.uk/

That is where Neal used. Guy who runs it is called Mick, always an interesting assortment of cars in the workshop too.
