1.9 with the Mi16 final drive would be good, you don't need top speed for the lanes

Can;t answer for the ramp angles, depends how fierce you want it and the surfaces really, Miles can advise I would imagine.

close

Mi16 - 4.43

1.6 GTi - 4.06

1.9 GTi - 3.62

Mi16 cwp in a 1.9L box is definitely the cheapest and best option for your application.

You have to completly strip the gearbox to fit the pinion which is part of the main shaft. You have to take off the back cover to fit the crownwheel/diff. You have to swap all the gears onto the new shaft. 1.9 gears and the Mi16 final drive is a good combination. The 1.9 and 1.6 gear ratios are pretty similar but 1st is very short in the 1.6.

The Mi16 final drive is 4.4:1, 1.6 GTi is 4.0:1 & 1.9 GTi is 3.68:1.

hi, on my 205, i've a 19/79 cwp of citroen xantia (4.15 ratio)

but we also find little jumpy or on xantia:

jumpy 1.9D (DW8 engine) 15/74 (4.93) or 15/76 (5.06) BE3 and BE4 gearbox

jumpy 1.9D (xud engine) 17/81 (4.76) BE3 gearbox

jumpy 2.0i (ew10j4 engine) 14/62 (4.42) or 17/75 (4.41) BE4r gearbox

xantia 1.6i, 1.8i, 2.0i

(19X72) (16X61)

(19X75) (16X63)

(19X77) (16X65)

(19X79) (16X67)

xantia 1.9 td (xud9te engine) 15/64 (4.26) 16/65 (4.06) 19/77 (4.05) be3

xantia 2.0i 16v (xu10j4) 15/64 be3

xantia 2.0i 16v (xu10j4r) 19/79 be3

I've also thinking to the mi conversion for my 205 (i've two 14/62 cwp in my garage)

but my setup is ideal for my use :):)
