Mi16 Oil Catch Tank Problem

hi,

 

been noticing alot of mayo in oil filler neck/cap. the car doesnt seem to be uising water as the phase two expansion tank is always half full. I have a Oil catch tank installed via a pipe running from the oil filler cap breather (mi only has one outlet on the cap) to the catch tank and the tank has another outlet/breather on it but i just a small filter/vent over that.

 

should i have a return back to the sump, as im noticing i think the oil is going down slightly and the cars not burning it.

Why have you got an oil catch tank? (aprt from the obvious.... to catch oil...)

My catch tank has 1 inlet, coming from oil breather sytem, and 1 vent, with a small breather filter on it.

Theres no need to have it going back to the sump.

 

My cam breather also goes to the catch tank. Ive had no issues with mayo (condensation build up) since i fitted it.

its ok now, went for a long drive and it has all gone, must be only doing 13 miles to work and 13 miles causing it. maybe a good rag should sort it ha.

Short journeys are a killer.
