Removing Aerial Or Aeriel Base

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I have got rid of my stereo so I no longer need the aeriel and it's base. I don't want a nasty hole and infact I can't move the head lining due to my cage being fitted so what can I do to remove as much as possible?

Without having access from the inside have I limited what I am able to remove to only the main aeriel stem?

Thanks

Jonny

to remove the base your need to remove the inside light

I may struggle then as the light is in but say behind the cage bar. I will investigate further..

Thanks for the info.

if it is a bolt in cage surely you can unbolt the top cross bar and one of the front legs to get the bar out of the way?

Very true, but it everything is in and fits etc so I don't want to fiddle with anything and c*ck it up - I am good at that.

Once the lights out its just the one nut holding it in.

Then you could either weld it up, or find a blanking plug if you can.

I am now in the same situation, no radio so no need for an aerial.

Has anyone come up with a good idea to plug the hole left once the aerial base has been taken off ?

Before I even attempt to take it out, any idea on the shape of the hole and approx size ?

I got mine out okay, the hole left is about 5mm from memory. I have welded a plate underneath and filled it in.
