Injection Cleaner Products ?

hi all

 

thinking of putting some injection cleaner in the tank, is this advised ? any downsides ? if ok what is the best product to use ?

Never seen the point of this stuff in recent times. Petrol is full of additives and cleaners itself. Back in the days of variable quality fuel with carbs blocking up, might have been of use. With modern fuel seems like a waste.

Its still widely used. Most main dealers use it as part of regular servicing.

 

Whilst petrol does contain detergents etc, there not as effective as a dedicated product. And cheap petrol is cheap for a reason...its not got as much stuff in it generally.

 

I use it prob every 6 months or so...but i get it free B) And i use V Power...which does contain a lot of goodies !

I've used injector cleaner a few times on various cars I've had. It's worked as a cure when the car has been running rough for no other obvious reason.

I used it when I first got my car, seemed to run a little better afterwards, although that could all have been in my head!! I use V power too, starting to use V power made a much bigger difference!

I wouldnt bother with any additives, but I would get them off to be tested and cleaned professionally.
