Gti Gear Box Problem Help Please

hi ive just fitted a gear box wich has the lift up tag for reverse in a car whichs gear selector does not and now i cant get a reverse but was told that this wouldnt be a problem and that i should be able to so can anyone tell me how i can get a reverse gear any help greatly apreciated ta??

So you have fitted a BE1 box to a car with a BE3 Gearkstick? That won't work, you need to put a BE1 gearstick and Cable into the car too to make it work.

any way to bodge it so it will work dosnt need to be anythig special just the cars only a grasstracker nt a road goer just need reverse for getting off /on trailer anyidea s?

Nope, you need the cable as it lifts the gate allowing u to get reverse.

Just remove the cable from the box, Mind 1st and reverse are very close
