Help Needed Douring Xsing My 205

Recommended Posts

brolly

i am xsi ing (1.4 xsi out of a 106)my 205 jr.

i am going to use:

a 205 xs gear box

205 gti 1.9 fully adjustable Koni suspensions

and larger front brakes - may be the 307 hdi (283mm)

Do i need to change the shafts ? if so which are the best i should use ? 205 gt\xs , 106 xsi 205 gti ?

what sort of modifications do i need to be able to fit the gti suspensions ?

will i need to change the front hubs to make the 307 brakes fit ?

use the 205 xs/gt shafts, the 106 ones wont fit

none, its a straight swap including top mounts

no, the xs hubs are the correct offset for a 307 conversion, you will need 15" wheels to fit over them

thanks alot for your help.

Can I ask something else?

I know that the 106 xsi block is made up of iron - but not sure of the cylender head. Can someone tell me if the 106 xsi cylinder head made up of aluminium or iron ?

my current hubs are the standard hubs found on a 205 with 1.0 engine will those be ok for the gt\xs shafts, 307 brakes and 205 gti suspetions ?

Yes, they'll be fine - correct fitment for the driveshafts, correct offset for the brakes, and strut fitment into the hub is universal on all 205's :D

If you haven't bought the 307 brakes already i'd leave the 283mm setup and go for the 266mm stuff, even this is way overkill for an xsi engine, no matter what the power!

hello guys its me againe i have another problem.

i dont have the 106 xsi top mount nor that piece of metal(im sory i dont know what it is called) that connwcts the mounting to the head, the prooblem is that the the 205's xs mounting fiting does not fit as the water pump in the xsi engine is not in the mounting fiting but the 205xs's is in this fitting. can you tellme what its called and it shoud be compatibel with other engines
