Compression test it.

Have you determined which cyl is not firing? What does the plug from this cyl look like?

well

the plug in the cylider nearest to the drivers side (we'll call that number 4) was clean, the others were covered in carbon

so i cleaned them all and put them back in

this time cylinder 1 was missing. so i took it that this may have been the plug that was in cyl 4

so i swapped them for 4 new plugs and there was no difference

thats when i swapped the coil packs and it was the same again

compresion test and/or leakdown test....

so you can make sure its ignition faults or fueling rather than engine problems!

Is the injector firing/working?

Sparking from all four plugs?

all 4 are coilpacks are firing.

As for the injectors firing i dont know.

i've been searching and all thats coming up is problems with the alloy block engine

its all dizzy caps and leads ;)

tomorrow i'm gona

compression test it

take the plugs, coils and coil loom off my runner and try them

then the ignition amp

could it be an ecu problem? i dont think it could be with the problem changing cylinders

other than that i'm stumped :)

well i spent the morning trying to get it to run properly without any success

I put some fuel into it as it must have been very low and guess what?

Thats right, it was the fuel causing it to run like crap!

I think it was old stuff.

Have you checked the ACAV vacuum intake thingy? When they play up they run badly

i dont know what that is, but i changed as much as i could, then put all the original parts it started with back on.

Then put some new petrol in and it was sweet as a nut.
