Speedo Cable

Recommended Posts

Changed my instrument binnacle recently and when I put it back together speedo wouldn't work.

Took it apart again and the end of the cable looks a bit odd - there is the white end piece that plugs on to the speedo which is separate from everything else with some lugs on the back end of it, then there is a grey tubular piece on the end of the cable - should these be joined together?

I jammed one into the other, put it all back together and it works now, but wanted to make sure this is how it should be!

Not sure that's a good answer, I would rather know that it is working right to be sure it isn't damaging something else!

If I can get my head around what you said then yes those peices should be joined up, sounds like someone was a bit harsh when they disconnected it and broke off the white clippy thing that holds the cable into the back of the clocks. If you feel up to it take it apart again and take a pic so we can double check
