How come you don't have an adjustable venier pulley? what capacity is it (if its 1900 the power seems very low imo)

its a 1600

and the pully was a early one with a roll pin

re drilled and locked but be honest the timing was very close to standard gti timing

i had to check power band info and we are cock on

reason i checked is when we had the ignition timing prob.... co driver blamed valve timing.... so it was checked and double checked

it is easy to condem engine work

but when it comes down to it i stand my ground.... and i was right on this occasion

1 look at dissy brought the fault straight to surface

co drivers suck ass!

If its 1600, why does it have the spacer plate!

I washed a carb in a dishwaser once, opened the washer to early and fuel smelled steam filled the room. OOPS.

spacer plate and 1.9 sump for bottom end strength

trying to makr the engine strong and powerfull

now all we need is the driver to rev it harder

my last conversation went as follows

that shift light is no good.... it never flashed once....when did you change gear? duno!

well try letting the shift light flash.... rev the f***in thing!!!

It'd be good to see a graph?

I'm sure you said it was 125ATW in another thread...

it would be great to see a graph but i don`t have 1 as i said mr bogg does not run a digital rolling road

just a analog dial on wall

end of the day our little 1.6 gti seeing 120ish on dial is good too me

and as you can see from pics the basics are there

it is out this weekend so fingers crossed we will get a good result

i will get some more pics and spec of car at weekend

to be honest did not chect the cr

it was a early 105 bhp motor so swapped head with a good 1.9 and gave it a good skim

as for jetting i will be taking it back after our event this weekend

want to see if we can get ant more out of her

and am sorting spec and pics at mo

these are as it look`s at the mo

some spec as follows

16 gti seam welded shell

be3 1.6 box standard box with quaife atb diff/ we also have a really short be1 for twisty bits

ap paddle clutch

bilstien coil overs front

bilstien rear shock

fully rebuilt rear 1.9 axle with frodo 2500 pads

brake pipes all aeraquip through car

magnex full system with standard front pipe

hydraulic hand brake

standard bottom arms with super flex bushes

oil breather

front brakes 1.9 with 2500 frodo pads

after this event at the weekend the engine will be getting a good once over as its finished its 3rd rally and will be nicely run in then back to tuners for some pep

the only thing i might look at will be the brakes... we are running a standard set up and it might benifit some bias...

but it is going well at the mo with a bit more development it will be great

"Frodo pads" PMSL! best misspelling I've seen in ages!

no extra compression?

Lumpy stick + standard 8 valve compression = horrible unde 2.5-3k :)

sorry for my dyslexia... thats why i became a mechanic and not a teacher lol

as for cr head had a heavy skim but i did not calculate the ratio

it was too much like hard work

and it does like high revs
