No noticeable gain in performance from using mega leads on my 8v, plus I managed to pull the connector off one when they were a few months old. The beru ones are good, didnt fall apart either and the king lead is the correct length, which is nice.

Currently using silicone leads from www.performanceleads.co.uk, Build quality is better than the megaleads I had and they cost roughly the same as the Beru ones. King lead is too long though and the boots needed some fiddling with to get them in the right position/ seated on the dizzy cap propley. Would buy again

GSF website does not list many items that they actually stock Jon. Get on the blower to the Totton store and they can sort you out with most things, beru leads for definate as I bought some not long back.

Thanks, i've also just realised that this thread wasn't 16v specific.

I bought a set of Bosch ones about FOUR years ago. They're still on the car now, and it's used every day. I have a spare set ready to go on, but i'm going to see how much life the existing ones have left.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the connectors haven't become brittle, and the plug hole covers seal well, so I can still whip them off to replace plugs or distributor cap with no drama.

I paid about £25.00 but i'm sure you can get them cheaper.

i find the gsf online shop as userfriendly as a scorpion with a chip on its shoulder so looking at autofive's selection of leads are these the right ones for me "26EP024 HT lead set Bosch – clip on cap " ( 91 1.6 gti )

A 91 GTi should have a screw on distributor cap (2 screws), rather than the clip on one. I'm not sure if the ht leads/plugs are actually any different?

The 92 set listed will be for the later, Motronic CAT equipped cars. Still not sure if the leads are any different though

For a 91 Gti the GSF part number is: T92613 £19.80 and should be the Beru ones.

this is where i'm never sure, i've got a'91 h reg 1.9 gti but the block and head have been replaced with dkz (xu9ja/z) with no cat and running original jetronic system. i'm not sure what the main differences are between the two engines i know the dkz as a slightly lower comp. ratio ? i've bought all my parts for normal engine and seems fine on them, mine is screw on cap (bosch dizzy)
