hello all,

having just got my mi on the road, and doing my coolant yesterday i am noticing after a drive when the cars warm that the pipe from the top of radiator to the thermostat housing seems to be hard/pressurised. its that how it is mean'nt to be? had new coolant in yesterday to about 60 coolant / 40 water and bleed it the best i could, (closed up the bleed nipples when the water/coolant reached them)

thanks

dan

thought a coolant system was supposed to be pressurised in order to work properly

yep thats what i thought after i posted this thread, anyhow juts went out to car and check my car and i have a slight leak on the bottom hose from the rad, but since its cooling down the pressure is going way nicely.

on a phase 2 header tank, when the coolants cold, the header tank is only meant to be half full right.?

Sometimes a quite hard/pressurized radiator hose means a blown head gasket... :-(
