TRYNKEEPUP

I have thought about throwing away all the oil filler rubber pipes and cap etc and blanking hole up, Leaving breathers. and putting a cap on the cam/rocker cover like most cars ! has anybody else done this?. what do you think ? the standard setup is useless i think.

Sounds like a lot of work.

The Gti 6 engine uses a more modern cam cover, with filler built in.

But modding yours to something similar isnt worth it imo. Filling is ok, its the breathing which isnt great. Hence a lot of us run catch tank systems.

I have just installed an Mi into my 205 and the previous owner of the engine has had this done. The rocker/cam cover has been milled and a filler cap fitted. unfortunately I haven't made use of this as am struggling getting the car ran as it is.

what is the logic behind this? what would the benefits be?

My trouble is with standard filler pipe set up is filling up with oil it takes ages to go down spitting and bubbling as it goes, and i dont think any of it looks very nice. putting a cap in cam cover i could get rid of nearly all of pipes. Think when peugeot designed engine they finished it and forgot to put a cap in to put oil in lol.

Just remove the dipstick slightly, this lets the air vent out and you'll fill up as quick as any other car

Just thought it would tidy engine bay up a great deal sa it looks messy. rubber filler hose always kinking and bending and its new.
