Standard V6 Rev Limit

Recommended Posts

Rob Turbo

Quite simply, does anyone know what the standard rev limit is on an ES9J4 engine? So I can keep the right rev limit in the megasquirt.

Thanks,

Rob

don't know what the actual limits were, but IIRC the 194 engine had peak power at 5500, and the 210 VVT peaked at 6k rpm.

but, you may find that with it being on a different exhaust with less restrictions it'll breather far better and be able to rev more.

So if I was to set the limit at say 6500 or so I shouldn't be missing out on any power and shouldn't be risking my engine?

Rob, did you find out how many teeth where on the V6 flywheel?

It's a 60-2 wheel, so 58 teeth and 2 gaps, tooth 15 IIRC is at the sensor when no.1 cylinder is at TDC.

Miles

Mines around 6800 and even at that it could go more as it sounds fine and still willing to rev, I know peak power on mine has always been around 6200
