Sorry im going on about it again but it is so ANNOYING :);)B)

As some of you already know my car loves to stall at junctions, its fine with sidelights on but as soon as you have dipped on its loads worse, today i ran some temp earth wires fom the engine to the battery and from the alternator body to the battery, and no improvement,im all out of ideas so im thinking about something i thought about a while ago before i thougt the stalling was to do with the charging system i thought about putting carbs on as it makes most of my electrical management obsolete, now what i want to know is whats needed to fit them? My basic understanding is obviously the carbs, manifold, linkages etc,but where i get lost is do i need a low pressure pump in the tank or can i just use a fuel pressure regulator? And what is the best make/model to run on a pretty standard 1.6 GTI?

Cheers again guys

Shouldn't have to fit carbs to solve the issue, obviously something actually wrong.

Is the alternator actually healthy? You say you tried temping up some extra wires, but if the component isn't functioning correctly then no amount of wires will help.

Iv tried two alternators and a new battery with no improvement. Iv narrowed it down to an electrical issue,iv tried all the common stuff but cant find anything wrong,as soon as i put dipped headlamps on i get a voltage fluctuation at the injectors from 13.9volts down to 11volts, i thought (hoped) with carbs im removing the injection and hopefully the part of the loom thats causing the problem. Iv tried so much and am just clutching at straws, lol

you say you've tried 2 alternators, second hand?

I'd still go with a poorly alternator.

Both second hand but putting out good voltage (I checked the output on the battery and the back of the alternator). I even checked my headlight bulbs earlier just incase they were 100watt bulbs, but no joy :) .

if you think the problem lies around the lights, have you tried a different stalk ?

Thats at the injectors,i wasnt to sure on what would be causing a fluctuation that much,im starting to give up to be honest, thats why i was thinking about ripping the injection off,do you not think that would remove the prob? Thanks for suggestions though im sure someone will say something i havnt tried and will sort it
