The general rule when putting wider tyres on is if you go wider you need to reduce the profile to compensate, because you will be changing the gear ratios. ie: 185/55/15 - 195/50/15

Hey Matts206, I'm not disputing what you're saying, but I'm not understanding the principle of the relationship between the width of the tyres and the depth of profile and gear ratios!? Could you elaborate on that a little?

Just had a coffee and woke up. Makes perfect sense.

55% of 185= 101.75

50% of 195= 97.5

Got you
