Im fairly sure it only goes on one way when you attach it to its bracket ( on a 1.9 1988 one), but ive not done one for a while and theres two typs as i know off. But im sure you can put the pipes on either way, it only stops the flow of air along the pipe. Is it a brand new one you have, will be interesting to see how it performs compared to a old one, which i think become sticky with wear and tear.

The 2pin connector points towards you.

I have just been replacing the SAD on my 1990 1.9 and the 2pin connector faced towards the bulkhead.

Thats a different way to the couple iv done but if you think about it it will work either way,its only a device that controls air flow, its not a one way valve or anything so i would say as long as its connected and it hasnt got anything rubbing on it then its fine.

I put it on with the connector faceing towards me (front of car) seemed to fit well.

Sorry my mistake, your right it fits towards you. I think the person who had it befor me must of put it the wrong way round! it does fit but its wrong, not sure if it makes any difference. Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Oops.. I had a blonde moment there..! :)

When I bought the car the cylinder head gasket had blown - which is now sorted, and a few of the engine components were in the boot, so i've been consulting the manual and trying to refit bit by bit.

Must admit I was a little confused.. The 205 challenge car doesn't have the temperature gauge housing, it just has the SAD bolted directly on the side. Where as on the road car, the temperature gauge housing was missing the sensor on the side, which I didn't realise initially, hence me thinking of a gasket.

Anyway, now I have the SAD and the TGH plus the sensor, problem is.. I only have one connector..!!??

I'm confused..!!! :o
