Xu10j2te Turbo Conversion - Short Shift Kit & And 'l' Brac

Hi all,

 

Am I right in understanding that when you do this conversion you need to moddify the 'L' bracket on the gearbox.

 

The options are:-

 

i) You can simply bend the bracket.

 

or

 

ii) you could chop the ball linkage and weld it to the other side.

 

Well this is what I've been reading on here.

 

My Question is can you do this if you are using a short shift 'L' Bracket. What I want to do is aquire one of these and go for the first option. Any input would be much ablidged.

It is posible to do even when you bend it and weld the ball upside down. I had to do both on my car.

Its been like it on mine for a fair few months now. Easy enough too.
