Exhaust Hangers (rubber Type)

Recommended Posts

MrG

not really a mod as such but what do people use on their track 205's to hang the exhaust? Do you use the std offerings or some similar to the ones on ebay (Poly type). Mine are showing signs that they could do with replacing, so do I go std or poly type?

Thanks

Andrew

Standard move about too much in my opinion. I run uprated ones that are about 30% stiffer vs standard

Yeah don't bother with standard ones, they're good at first but then sag really badly after a little while.

Those ebay ones look cheap, cant vouch for quality though but its a well established seller...

Ive got those ebay ones on my car :) They are better than standard but not as good as Powerflex ones I had on my MK3 Escort. They were much more substanial.

Yeah the Poly ones definetly reduce exhaust movement a fair bit, did on my 306 anyway. So i guess they are worth the money if thats what you want from them!?

Do the poly ones increase noise or vibration levels? (I'm due a new backbox but don't want extra noise and vib) or do they only reduce movement?

Also anyone know where i can get a reasonable, cheap standard backbox  .

Sorry to hijack.

Roddie

Hmmm, i suppose that i did notice a slight increase in noise and vibration, nothing too drastic though. Got rid of the noise of the backbox continually hitting the bumper so i was quite content!
