Sausage Air Filters On Jenveys

Recommended Posts

pee vee

Hi all,.

been looking about and i need to know

Has anyone had any trouble using one of these style air filters, on a 205 MI16.

im using Jenveys with 90mm trumpets, so the filter will have to be 110mm internal height at least

Can you still shut the bonnet ok?? LOL

i need to know before i go and spend loads of money on one.

Anything special i need to do to fit it??

thanks!

Bit of a tight squeeze but doable. I had to remove the slam panel at the front and use bonnet pins but its on a rally car so not the end of the world. I think the curved filters rather than teh square edged one in the pic probably fit slightly better

Why not mount a motorbike filter on the end of the trumpets? Much better for space and even looks better. PX500 from memory (it's been a while). I ran one on my old (Pre SF) TH bodies. That was tight for space!

that will be a bit dodge when the inside of the filter is too close to the trumpet lip, the foam will easily be torn away by the suction power. I am currently running socks but the clearance between trumpet lip and back of sock is only about 20mm, if i drive it to work daily the socks can only last for 1.5 - 2 years. I had the front bit of the sock (the circle part) torn and stuck inside the throttle body obstructing the butterfly once.

Not sure what you mean by "dodge" - it had 25mm+ clearance from lip to inside of the filter. I used Sikaflex I think to stick the backplate to the trumpets, ideally it'd have been tigged to them.
