Clutch Question

Recommended Posts

Mr Bob

I'll be running an s16 (XU10J4 2.0 16v) engine which has a pull clutch and I want to run it with a gearbox that is from a push clutched engine 306 xsi (XU10J2 2.0 8v) is this just a straight swap or am I going to run into troubles?

sorry but I don't know much about clutches and I did a search too!

Thanks for any help or advice.

Bob

This may help you? http://www.205gtidrivers.com/ Articles - Steering and drivetrain - Clutch change guide

Its a lot easier with a clutch centering tool, about £5 for a plastic one.

Sorry to double post but can some one tell me what it is I need to change the pull clutch to the push?

Is it just a new clutch plate kit I need?

Any recommendations on where to buy them from?

Sorry for stupid questions but clutches are all new to me!

Thanks again

Bob

Thanks for that, I forgot that guide was there! :o

Looks simple enough, but as my engines still on the floor I am worried about getting it centered as the gearbox is still in the car so I wont know till the change is done, I take it using a centering tool will center it right 1st time?
