Dust Cap Top Of The Engine

just wanted to know what the dust cap (thats what it looks like) at the top of the engine does please.

Is it on the fuel rail? If so its the take off to measure the pressure in the rail.

 

Will never really be used unless you have running problems.

Never seen one of those on the GTi - my guess would be you're looking at the bleed valve on the thermostat housing

no its not on the fuel rail. i thought maybethe bleed valve for the thermostat.

its on the right hand side as you look at the engine on the top just above injector.

i havnt got any pics to show as my battery is dead on my camera lol

i done it up because it was making a wierd whistling noise as well
