Car Shaking Gear Lever Wobbling When Accelerating

Recommended Posts

tagy

while driving my 205 gti-6 when accelerating suddenly the whole car started to shake badly seemed to be coming from the front of the car.

from then on when applying a small amount of power the gear stick shook wildly, and applying alot of power again the whole car shakes.

I got home slowly and have had a look expecting the gearbox to be falling off, but I cannot see anything loose (engine mounts, subframe bolts, etc..)

any ideas what has gone wrong? once it had cooled down I tried driving it again, it was maybe not as bad but still clearly wrong. Driving slowly in 1st gear I can feel the gear stick pulsing in my hand.

help..

same week as the headgasket went in my other 205!!:angry:
