Tu Manifold Mods?

Right if its covered els were can you point me in the right place please that would be great.

 

What im trying to do is fit a TU engine into a gti 205 (when i get the engine). Most of it is simple but im trying to find what i need to do to the exhaust/subframe, As i will be running a tubular rally spec manifold and i think im gona have some problems with getting it between the sumpgard and under/over the subframe.

 

So has any one altered the exhaust/subframe and if so do you have any pis you could post for me.

can i just ask why ? most people normally go from tu to xu not the other way

what you need to do is to cut the gear post from the subframe and move it to where it would be on the TU subframe, then reweld it to the subframe.

well i find the tu is a better engine alltogether, its alot more compact and revyer than the xu heap and costs alot less to run rebuild wise.

 

Also it opens up beter championships for me.

Cool thanks for that have you seen it done any other was? than moveing the gear rods etc.

 

I once worked on a ex works toyota gt4 and they did somthing similar they used oval tube and passed it through the subframe, just wundering if anyone has seen it done that way.
