Ecu Timing Injectors

Recommended Posts

jeeves

Hi guys i need to pick all your brains again as i have a race on Saturday and my car just refuses to start.

I have spent the whole day trying to start the car and it wont go. I have a spark which is strong and i have fuel at the correct pressure but it just cranks the engine over and doesnt even cough or seem as though it wants to start.

The wiring is a phase 2 with the coil mounted on the inlet manifold. What i was wondering is does anyone know how the ECU gets the timing for the injectors?

I have changed the coil and the amplifier but it hasnt had any effect.

Anyone have any ideas??!! :P

Pull the fuel rail out and then crank it over and see if your injectors are firing as a starter for 10

The ecu gets the signal from the dizzy, there's a plug on it, held in by a screw IIRC, take it out, give it a clean and put it back.

Is this 8v?

Have you got fuel in the tank?

Have you got the little green cable plugged in (coming from the ECU plug linking to the fuseboard)?

Ok thanks guys. Im quite sure that the injectors are firing as after i crank the engine over a few times the plugs are soaking and i need to burn the petrol off them. I will try giving the dizzy lead a good clean up

Typical, and I thought it would be better to buy an older car.
