Top Radiator Hose

hello peeps

 

im needing to extend my top radiator hose which connects to the thermstat housing, and wondering if anybody knows what bore size the pipe is and what bore metal pipe to use? also what pipe can you buy cheap that will do it?

for a mi to standard rad mate, just thought somebody would know whats the ideal bit of pipe to use on it.

IIRC its something like 32mm i.d, dont forget to get swaged ends as the pipe loves to pop off if its not.

thanks mate, gather metal only then, plastic would be no good. how do you "swaged" the ends of the pipe?

32mm is what you need, however you'll find it very hard to find that size. However ask for some 1 1/4" and you'll have no problem!

 

If you look on ebay you can buy it in metre lengths, however if you draw up what you want I have some in the garage and can probably make what you need for some beer money.

cheers mate, found some plastic pipe used for ponds, you reckon that would be strong enough?

I used an 8v std top hose with my Mi into 205 using the std rad and it works fine. I had to cut a bit off. I used the alloy outlet off the 8v I think on the Mi

i used the plastic outlet from the mi on my thermostat housing as i wanted the feed from that to feed my oil cooler, and the pipe i have one is slightly twisted and crimping the pipe so maybe putting a metal in it and extending it should hopefully cure it.
