205 Gti V6

Recommended Posts

Guest Ian King

Well i hve project and so many plans for it. 1st of all i got hold of a 205 with an genuine dimma kit fitted. that was the only part i had no questions about doing, i just love the kits. my main problem idea wise is the engine, what engine what size.

1st of all im thinking about putting the 3.0 v6 from a 406 in. The main thing about this is will it fit? I can get hold of a full car so thats not problem,

How much modifiction is required to get the engine in? ive looked at a few pictures and the mounts look resonably similar. if i use the 406 hubs and shafts will this suffice?

I was just going to put a 1.9 gti engine in but good ones are gettin hard to find now, 2 ive bought have turned out to be frankenstein creations, 1.6 b2c block 1.9 gti head.

So do the v6 engine fit without spaceframing the front end? ive seen the twin v6 monster oon this forum but hvnt got the time to go into that much structural modification as tht one.

Any help on this would be appriciated.

Ian

It will fit but it needs a lot of work.

Custom top mount

Extensively modified subframe and lower mount

Custom clutch mechanism

Modified Rad setup

Shortened driveshafts (you cant use the 406 ones in standard length)

Loads of smaller things too, it is possible but really not your run-of-the-mill engine conversion.

p.s. You say your 205 has a genuine dimma kit, how come your Signature says its a replca?

with the shaft problem, would you not be able to use the arms and hubs i need a wider track to fill the dimma arches or are they too much wider?

You will need adjustabe top mouts if you were to otherwise you will just have waaaay to much camber.

Normally dimma arches are filled by different offset wheels or spacers and not by wider track as such.

http://www.kad-uk.com/peugeotparts.htm 3rd item down. i was plannin on gettin these in the 1st place. for the wider front i was looking into wider track due to the fact i dont trust spacers at all i have a few sets of alloys but none hve wide offset or are deep dish like the dimma spits. just over an inch short width wise.
