Exhaust Bolts: How Do You Fit New Ones?

Recommended Posts

Goliath

I'm sure I saw a thread on this not so long ago but couldnt find it in the search.

My exhaust bolts and nuts are rounded off so I cant undo them and will have to cut them to get them off. My question is how are you meant to fit new ones as the O/S one cannot be removed from the manifold without bending/cutting it so I dont se how a new one would go in? Are you just meant to put that one (or both) through the other way? (so the nut is facing up towards the manifold)?

You have to remove the sleeve that slots into the manifold.

yeah just tw@t the sleeve out, say by putting a deep socket on a long extension over the bolt from underneath, so it fits in the recess that the sleeve is in and voila.

Remember to fit the bolt into the new sleeve first before messing around trying to get the blooming thing back in!
