Afm "tuning"

Hello, today I opened an old AFM and I saw there are few possible adjustment inside. Among these there is the big black plastic notched ring that thights the flap spring. I think rotating the ring counterclockwise will decrease the spring flap resistance opposed to the air flow. Does this cheat the ECU about the real air flow entering into the engine so that more fuel gets injected?

Yes it does. It will increase the fuel over the whole line. Normally this should not be necessary unless you tune your engine. Otherwise no real gains will be achieved - or so i am told
