Girling Or Bendix

Hi Guys,

 

Just removed my front wheels to reveal 2 Girling calipers, I was expecting Bendix as the car has bendix on the back and a bendix ABS system. Is it normal to have a mix like this. Looking on the web most sites only have Girling listed for the front not Bendix at all. Have the company I got these bedix front calipers given me ones for the 1.6??

 

Any help appreciated as I could do with sorting it today

Bendix only made the 1600 GTi calipers and not the 1900, who were made by girling. If they are bendix I imagine they are for a 1600!

that's quite normal, 1.9's always used Girling front calipers and Bendix rear calipers, and vice versa on the 1.6, Bendix calipers and Girling drums.

 

 

 

edit; IIRC all ABS models used the 1.9 Girling calipers, hubs and driveshafts.
