Silly Question Arp Bolts

Recommended Posts

Andy F

Hi people

Have just got my new Rods, pistons and ARP bolts.

Only thing is the ARP bolts dont come with nuts?? I take it this right?

If so shall i just purchase nuts from peugeot or are there better ones to use.

Thanks

Andy

Blimey, I'm 99% sure mine did...

Were your bolts loose or in the original packaging?

Hmmm ;) well, I'm fairly sure when I rebuilt my mi16 they were all in the same pack, but I'll be honest I'm not 100%. I'm not saying 8v kits are the same as 16v kits, of course, but I would have thought (in my completely unprofessional opinion!) that the nuts and bolts would in some way be matched and so provided together? But hey; what do I know.... maybe ring the shop you bought them from and ask? Or ring somewhere like Arrow/DES/QEP/Longman/AB Motorsport and ask....

Those look pretty much how I remember mine coming, yep. Nuts look the same, too.

:( erm its no time to admit how dim ive been.

I compared the new bolts with the old ones thinking there not the same.

Then actually studied the new rods i had in detail and as there steel rods one half of the rod is threaded, therefore not needing nuts hence them being different to normal MI16 ARP bolts.

thinking before i speak come to mind ;)

thanks for everyones help anyway though
