I know it may seem a stupid question, but have you checked the fuses?

lol, it don't mater what fuse i put in, it just blows straight away! I tried using a bent paperclip, but it just went pop like all the fuses. I guess i have a short somewhere, but i'll be damned if i'm going to start looking for it! I can live without a rev counter, but can't live without a 205 because its burnt itself to death through dodgy wiring! :o

What about the connections on the coil? Have you checked them? I think i'm right in saying thats where the rev counter gets its signal.

i would check the feed off the coil first.. thats where the rev counter gets its signal.. also, double check the brown mulitplug connections under the dash

It should be the green wire on the negative side of the coil.
