Done a search but having rouble finding anything.

What's a compliance bush?

Is it the rubber mounts for the rear beam?

BTW I've just bought a CTI.. needs work though as I only paid £260 for it!

No idea on the bush, but welcome to the hairdressers club! (I'm on CTi no4 and haven't paid that much yet  - well no2 of4 )

edit- after browsing google / ebay I found compliance bushes for hondas, sierra / granadas and rear ones for jag / mg and I reckon it's the bush that locates the anti- roll bar in the base lower front arms (hardly a wishbone)

Could be any suspension bush, but most likely to be one of the lower arm (wishbone) bushes.

Helpful of the MOT garage to let you know which bush failed

have you got the report? It should say which one, no?

I bought it with the MOT fail sheet, the previous owner didn't know what it meant either.

It says Rear Compliance bush, I Don't know if that means Rear suspension or the rear bush on the wishbones.

Not had time to check it over yet, but it's going to need loads of work. It's an F plate but the bodywork insn't that bad.

I'm planning on getting it running for the Summer though.

go to the garage and query them on what a compliance bush is, where it is, and what they would have failed it for. My 205 failed a while ago because the rear bushes had perished, £15 for a new set from motor factors, i think. Quite easy to install aswell.

After a quick google for compliance bush it might be the front wishbine inner bush but best option is to ring the garage that did the MOT & ask them what they mean because I've not heard the wishbone bushes or rear beam mounts called that before. :)

CTI's have track control arms so there is no wishbone as such. These are only about £15 a side from motorfactors with all the bushes in and a new ball joint, however a pair of those is over 10% of what you paid for the car!

The inner bush alone is about £7 iirc from Peugeot so if the rest of the TCA is in good condition.

Even the base model TCA's suffer the same problem as the GTI ones with rubbish bushes so I@d pick the new bush route but the choice is yours if its this they are calling the compliance bush.

Graham.
